Curator Announced for Critical Voices 3 Journalist and critic Helen Meany has been appointed curator of the Arts Council’s next Critical Voices programme. Critical Voices is an island-wide programme of events, talks, publications, commissioned writings and visits which aims to inform the Irish public’s awareness and critical understanding of the arts. As curator, Helen Meany will be responsible for devising and managing a series of events, the third in the Council’s biennial series, which the Arts Council hopes will create a platform to promote contemporary thinking and debate on the artist in society. The programme, which will take place during 2006, will be launched early next year. Helen Meany will take up her appointment on 1 September 2005. Posted: 1 September 2005
