Concorde Joined by International Soloists

Concorde

Concorde is to perform at the National Gallery of Ireland on Sunday 16 January.

The innovative contemporary music group will be joined by internationally-renowned accordion player Elsbeth Moser and bass clarinetist Gareth Davies.

The program includes Jarmo Sermilla’s Contours, Yuji Takahashi’s Like a Water Buffalo and Sofia Gubaidulina’s Silenzio.

The concert also features the world premiere of Duo Concertante, a new work by the Finnish composer Tomi Raisanen.

Written for the two soloists Elsbeth Moser and Gareth Davies, the work makes full use of Concorde’s musicians on flute, clarinet, violin, cello, piano and percussion. The composer will be present to meet the audience and introduce the music.

During her visit to Dublin, Elsbeth Moser will also be taking part in masterclasses with students at Dublin Institute of Technology and the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

The concert takes place at 3.00 pm in the Shaw Room and admission is free. For more information, visit homepage.eircom.net/~concorde/events.html
