Two of Gerald Barry’s operas have been released on CD.

Barry’s first opera, The Intelligence Park (1981-88), was released by NMC Records to coincide with the premiere production of his third opera, The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant at English National Opera this September.

The release is from a live BBC recording of the premiere given as part of the Almeida Festival in London in July 1990.

The RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra’s concert recording of Petra von Kant, recorded in Dublin last May, has also been released recently.
