Arts Council Mentoring Project

The Arts Council has announced a new Mentoring Development Project.

The initiative, set up by writer Michelle Read and arts consultant Valerie Bistany, has been commissioned by the Arts Council to research the process of mentoring in the arts.

In a pilot scheme as part of the research, the consultants are seeking interested candidates to take part in the programme as either mentor or mentee.

Mentors should be experienced artists, practitioners within their field, ‘makers’ with an interest in sharing their knowledge and experience with a less experienced artist.

Mentees should be practising professional artists seeking to further their personal artistic developmental through the process of individual mentoring. Contact is also welcomed from anyone who has previous experience of a mentoring relationship, preferably in an arts context.

Anyone interested in further information or in taking part in the pilot project should send a letter of interest and CV/biography to:

The Mentoring Development Project, C/O READCO, 30-31 Wicklow Street, Dublin 2. Email mentoringdevelopmentproject@eircom.net
