Promoters Forum at CMC

The Contemporary Music Centre is holding an open forum on March 31 for anyone interested in programming new music. Taking place from 2.30pm - 4.30pm, it aims to identify ways to develop interest and audiences for contemporary classical music.

This will be an opportunity for venues, festivals, music series, arts officers and those working in PR and new music to come together and share their experiences and learn from one another. CMC will outline how it can support and help the work of individuals and organizations promoting contemporary Irish music as well as offer practical advice on new music promotion.

Invited guest speakers are Gavin O’Sullivan, Director, Hugh Lane Gallery ‘Sundays at Noon’ series; Aideen Howard, Director, Mermaid Arts Centre, Bray; Rhona Feely, Director, Boyle Arts Festival and Sarah Searson, Arts Officer, Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council. Each will give a short presentation sharing their experiences and outlining where they have been successful and where the difficulties lie. Discussion and networking among participants will be a key feature of the event.

Due to space considerations places are limited and advance booking is essential. Please contact Karen Hennessy, Promotion Manager, tel: 01–673 1922 mailto: khennessy@cmc.ie
