Australian guitarist Craig Ogden begins a tour of Ireland shortly with a new work by Ben Dwyer.

The commission derives from a joint 2003 project between Music Network, RTE Lyric FM and CMC under the Critical Voices programme of the Arts Council.

The intention behind the project was to explore a new partnership approach to commissioning whereby the composer and the performer were encouraged to work closely together from the very beginning. The local concert promoters and via them, the audiences, would also have a stake in the process.

Dwyer’s work, Voces Criticas, will be premiered on 2 November in The Coach House, Dublin Castle, and subsequently performed in six other venues around the country. It will be recorded and broadcast by LyricFM.
