EPTA Belfast Invitation Concert

Gerry Murphy
Gerry Murphy

Composer Gerry Murphy’s work, Five Locks on the Barrow, features in a concert in Belfast in August.

It will be performed by Dublin pianist Finghín Collins, who premiered the work earlier this year, in a recital as part of the first-ever conference for pianists, piano teachers and students run by the Belfast branch of the European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA).

The invitation concert, which also includes works by Mozart, Schumann and Prokofiev, follows the conference at Queen’s University Belfast’s Music Department on Tuesday, 24 August 2004. Speakers include Paul Harris, Pam Wedgwood, Lucinda Mackworth-Young, and Robin Hewitt.

Admission to the concert is free; conference fee £15/Euro symbol22.

Further information: June Armstrong, Conference Organiser, 0044-28-9061 6856.
