Daniel Figgis TAMPER A composer residency in the Greater Dublin area culminates in September in a spectacular intermedia event. Composer Daniel Figgis is dedicated to audacious applications for old and new technologies. In a six-month residency with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council from May to October 2004, he has explored his process of ‘imposition’ with First Imposition, a new work for locally-based brass quintet, the Ottoni Ensemble. He has also delivered a series of lectures based on the themes of intellectual copyright and the process of ‘recomposition’. The climax of the residency is an ‘intermedia’ event entitled 'Daniel Figgis TAMPER' on 24 and 25 September 2004. This encompasses live music performance with surround sound and integrated video projection/ lighting design. Daniel Figgis' TAMPER takes place in Marlay Park, Rathfarnham, Dublin, on 24 & 25 September. Two shows nightly at 8.30 pm and 10.00 pm. Supported by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and The Arts Council. Further information:
