Crash at Gaudeamus

The Crash Ensemble under conductor Fergus Sheil give two performances as part of this year’s Gaudeamus Music Week in Amsterdam.

The concerts, which take place on 7 and 8 September, have a particular emphasis on multi-media and music theatre compositions.

The first concert takes place in De Ijsbreker with David Lang’s Cheating, Lying, Stealing; David Fennessy’s Airbrush; Zack Browning’s Network Slammer and Peter Adriaanz’s Triple Concerto. They perform in the Felix Meretis Concert Hall the following night with a programme including music by Irish composers: Andrew Hamilton’s i like things; Donnacha Dennehy’s Streetwalker; and Kevin Volans1000 Bars.

Crash Ensemble will also perform on the closing night of the Dublin Fringe Festival at the Spiegeltent on 10 October with a programme entitled Spiegel im Spiegel with works by Pärt, Adriaanz, Dennehy, Volans and Reich.

Plans are also underway for Crash Ensemble to collaborate with a major visiting international performer later this year. The collaboration is expected to produce some completely new and original material as well as performances of existing works.
