Crash Ensemble Seeks Administrator Crash Ensemble, one of Ireland’s most active contemporary music groups, has begun the search for a new administrator. With the appointment of its director, Fergus Sheil, as music specialist at the Arts Council, his former position is being split into two new posts -- those of administrator and musical director. 'I've worked with Crash Ensemble over the past two years, and during this time have been honoured to have worked with such fine musicians and to have engaged on many exciting projects with the group,' said Mr Sheil. 'I've also been hugely appreciative of the levels of support shown to the ensemble by colleagues and partners in other organisations throughout Ireland and abroad. It has been fantastic to have worked with you during this period, and to have had your support and encouragement.' Crash Ensemble specialises in multi-media contemporary music. It performs regularly throughout Ireland and abroad, working with many Irish and international composers, and is funded by the Arts Council. The post of Administrator is a part time position (with the possibility of becoming full time in 2005). It involves the complete day-to-day management of the ensemble, as well as working with the Artistic Director on forward planning. The administrator will also be responsible for funding relationships, financial planning, rehearsal and concert management as well as marketing and PR. Candidates for the position will ideally have experience in the arts administration area, have a developed understanding of the arts sector in Ireland and overseas as well as a knowledge of (or capacity to develop knowledge of) contemporary music.
