Promotional CDs Lead to Netherlands Airplay

CMC's continuing policy of promoting international radio airplay through complimentary CDs has scored another success, this time in the Netherlands.

Radio Monalisa is a weekly radio program broadcast in Amsterdam featuring music from female composers past and present.

The playlist for the next quarter contains several works by Irish composers including music from Joan Trimble on 5 October; Rhona Clarke and Gráinne Mulvey on 19 October; Siobhán Cleary and Eibhlis Farrell on 21 December; and Deirdre Gribbin on 28 December.

Radio Monalisa is one of many radio stations around the world to have received commercial and promotional CDs from the Contemporary Music Centre.

In August a Portuguese radio station broadcast two programmes of Irish contemporary music as a direct result of this project, and in July a 5-hour marathon of Irish music was broadcast from Princeton, New Jersey.
