Buckley’s Carillon in Germany

John Buckley
John Buckley

German organist Beatrix Hermann played the continental premiere of John Buckley’s organ work, Carillon (2003), recently. The performance took place in the Evangelische Stadtkirche in Tuttlingen, Germany, on 24 July.

Hermann, a long-time exponent of contemporary music from Ireland, reports that despite being unfamiliar with Buckley’s works, the audience were fascinated by this very different Irish music and the concert received a good review.
