Jennifer Walshe is one of 51 recipients from 1,200 applications to receive a fellowship to work at Schloss Solitude in Germany in 2003-2005. Each fellow receives an apartment for two years, a stipend and travel expenses as well as funding for equipment and a concert. Only five music fellowships were awarded, and applicants came from 26 countries.
Walshe has also been selected for a DAAD Artist-in-Residence programme in Berlin, one of three composers chosen for the 2004 programme. Each year, 15 to 20 internationally known artists as well as qualified young sculptors, painters, writers and composers from abroad are invited to spend twelve months in Berlin with the aim of promoting the exchange of artists’ experience and a concern for current cultural issues in other countries.
