Jennifer Walshe 's work, been in a room and a room and a room and a room (2002, 15') for twelve SATB voices is one of nine works selected for performance at the International Gaudeamus Music Week 2003. Jury members David Lang, Richard Ayres and Trevor Wishart picked their shortlist from 354 submissions by composers from 42 countries, ranging from China to Argentina and from Chile to Azerbaijan. The Music Week takes place in Amsterdam from 1 - 7 September 2003, during which the jury will determine the winner of the Euro symbol4,500 Gaudeamus Prize as a commission for a new composition to be premiered during the 2004 Music Week.

been in a room and a room and a room and a room was commissioned by the Crash Ensemble with funds provided by the Arts Council for performance by the Rilke Ensemble. It was premiered at the Up North! Festival in Dublin in December 2002.
