Trimble Concert

Joan Trimble
Joan Trimble

A concert by the Ulster Orchestra and conductor John Lubbock in memory of Joan Trimble will take place on Friday 20 June in the Ulster Hall, Belfast. The programme features Howard Ferguson's Concerto for Piano and Strings with soloist Una Hunt and Stanford's Irish Rhapsody No. 1, in addition to Trimble’s own Suite for Strings and Three Ulster Airs. The County Mayo song cycle will be performed by Joe Corbett (baritone) with Una Hunt and Roy Holmes (pianos), who will also play a set of Trimble’s folk song arrangements made famous by the composer’s very successful two-piano duo with her sister, Valerie Trimble.

This is an invitation concert and tickets are available free of charge from BBC Radio Northern Ireland.
