CMC Events

The next event in CMC's Spring/Summer series of evening talks is a Birthday Interview with composer Seóirse Bodley on 8 May. Emeritus Professor in the music department of University College Dublin, Bodley is one of the senior figures in Irish composition and celebrated his seventieth birthday during April. He will be in conversation with Dr Gareth Cox, Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Music in Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, who has published extensively on Irish music.

On 2 June, the next Birthday Interview has composers on both sides of the table, as it were. Composer Benjamin Dwyer interviews Raymond Deane, who was fifty in January, and this should prove to be an interesting interchange of views.

The July interview will be with Eibhlis Farrell and further details will be posted nearer the time.

All events take place in the CMC library from 6.30pm - 7.30pm and admission is free. Due to limited space places for all events should be booked in advance. Please contact Karen Hennessy, CMC Promotion Manager, email khennessy@cmc.ie or telephone (01) 673 1922.
