Opera Theatre Company has announced that it is seeking a new artistic director to replace James Conway who has been with the company for thirteen years. Conway, who is currently director of English Touring Opera, a position he has held alongside his role at OTC for the past year, is due to finish his contract early in 2004.

The new appointee, due to commence in Spring 2004, will be required to have an understanding of Irish and international opera, music and theatre. She or he will devise the programme, engage all artists and play a leading role in the Irish arts community working closely with the General Manager, Andrew McLellan. Applications from Ireland and the broader international opera community are being considered and the closing date for applications is 15 September.
