As part of its autumn tour programme the National Chamber Choir under its conductor Celso Antunes will be performing a new work by David Fennessy (b. 1976) entitled Choirland. The work was commissioned for the choir by Lyric FM and in addition to performances in six venues in Ireland they will perform it on a four-concert tour of Brazil in October.

The NCC has also commissioned Elaine Agnew to write a new work for the final concert in its winter series. The programme for the concert is based on the text of Solomon’s Song of Songs as set by some of the great composers over the centuries. Elaine’s piece will be the final work on the programme.
