Music from the Edge, Galway

Galway Arts Centre in association with Concorde contemporary music ensemble presents an informal international sampling of new music as part of the Galway Arts Festival Fringe. The weekend event will feature some of Ireland's finest musicians performing a selection of music by composers from around the world, including Sofia Gubaidulina from Russia, Arne Nordheim from Norway, Francois Rossé from France, Isang Yun from Korea and others. Performers include Concorde, the ConTempo String Quartet (Galway's recently-appointed ensemble-in-residence), accordionist Dermot Dunne with Luis Andrade-Gomes from Portugal, and the Richard O'Donnell Percussion Ensemble.

Drop in, experience something new and exciting, meet the performers, enjoy the exhibition! The music begins at 2.00 p.m. on Saturday 19 July and continues on Sunday 20 July. Admission is free.
