The premiere of Kevin Volans' work Desert Steps (2003) for viola, cello and two guitars takes place on 21 July at the Michael Tippett Centre in Bath, England. Commissioned by the International Guitar Foundation and Festivals it will be performed by Tom Kerstens and Abigail James, guitars, with members of the Emperor String Quartet.
