The Waterford Institute of Technology Music School's Fintan O'Carroll Feis will celebrate its seventh year with a relaunch in April 2003, having undergone major changes this year. Age groups are now defined and test pieces have been introduced, with an encouraging emphasis on living Irish composers. The competitions are now open to musicians from outside the music school and the 2003 syllabus, which will be available in November, includes contemporary Irish music for a variety of instruments.
