Waterford New Music Week 2003

The fourth Waterford New Music Week will take place next year from 27-31 January. Included in the programme will be a specially-commissioned children's opera, funded by the Arts Council, from composer Marian Ingoldsby and librettist Ben Hennessy. This will be performed on 27, 29 and 31 January in the Garter Lane Arts Centre. Participants will include the WIT Junior Orchestra, WIT Larks Choir and the WIT-based Waterford Boys Choir.

On 28 January, a concert of music by James Wilson will be performed in the Good Shepherd Chapel, WIT. The Canadian composer Clark Ross will give composition workshops throughout the week and other events include lunchtime concerts, lectures, a jazz concert and an art exhibition on the theme of contemporary music.
