Walshe at Gaudeamus

Jennifer Walshe
Jennifer Walshe

Jennifer Walshe's moving in/love song/city front garden with old men written in 2000 is one of 24 pieces shortlisted from 370 entries for this year's Gaudeamus Prize. The award, which is decided by a jury during the annual International Gaudeamus Music Week, is one of the most prestigious open to young composers. Nomination in itself is a valuable achievement since all the works are performed during the Music Week by outstanding soloists, ensembles and orchestras with a broad reputation in the interpretation of new music. Among them this year are the Asko Ensemble, Nieuw Ensemble, Ixion Ensemble, Nederlands Fluit Orkest, Frances-Marie Uitti and Garth Knox. In addition to the concerts there are workshops and lectures.
