Events at CMC

After a summer break through July and August, the CMC monthly talks series resumed this autumn with a very special event on 24 September. Irish composer James Wilson, celebrating his eightieth birthday this year, was in conversation with TV producer Anne Makower in CMC's Birthday Interview series. A recording of the event is available in the CMC sound archive.

Career-oriented talks continue throughout the autumn and winter. On 19 November, Paula Curran of Coda Music Technology will give a practical demonstration of Sibelius music software which will be of interest to anyone contemplating using it.

In December, CMC takes part in the Up North festival of Scandinavian music with two discussion sessions taking place in the Centre on 6 and 7 December at 3.30 pm. Participants will include visiting composers and musicians from the Nordic countries and further details will be available nearer the time.

All events take place in the CMC Library and admission is free. Due to limited space, places should be booked in advance with Karen Hennessy, Promotion Manager, tel. 01-673 1922 or email khennessy@cmc.ie.
