CMC Awards

The Contemporary Music Centre's new Perpetual Trophy for the performance of Irish contemporary choral music was awarded at the Cork International Choral Festival 2002 to the Tredagh Singers from Drogheda, Co Louth, under conductor Patricia Hegarty. They performed Michael Holohan's Winter in Meath.

At Dublin's Feis Ceoil last March the Contemporary Irish Music Cup and CMC cash prize of Euro450 was awarded to pianist Mary McCague for her performance of Donnacha Dennehy's Begobs III and IV. Joint second prizes of Euro200 each were awarded to pianists Lydia McCann who played Brian Beckett's Sonata No. 1 and Des Ryan for his performance of John Gibson's Slow Dance in Three and Four. Congratulations to all.
