Wednesday 9 - Saturday 12 June inclusive

This year we are experimenting with a new model for the annual meeting, with a shorter duration and tighter programming. We are also planning some parallel sessions for middle managers, eg those in charge of promotion, library/archive services and special projects. Since costs are lower with a shorter conference, we very much hope that as many MICs as possible will consider bringing a second staff member. We believe this will contribute very positively to good communication and cooperation within the IAMIC network.

The conference begins officially with a welcome barbecue in the Contemporary Music Centre on Wednesday, 9 June from 6.00pm. This is an opportunity to greet old friends and also to declare the IAMIC bar open for business!

Meetings of the Board and the committees and working groups take place prior to this on Wednesday afternoon. Please check in with the chair of your committee on times and arrangements.

The IAMIC general assembly and internal sessions take place all day on Thursday 10 June and Saturday 12 June. Details will be finalised shortly.

On Friday, 11 June, the conference is opened up to the Irish music and arts community. With the theme, The Future of Music, this brings together high-level international speakers to explore and debate issues around the meaning of digital culture; how it impacts on the creator and the performer; and the implications for copyright in a world which has come to expect music to be free. This is also a good opportunity to network with Irish music organisations across all the genres.

Some committees may wish to meet again on Sunday morning, 13 June, so please check in with your chair before making your travel arrangements.
