Ciaran Hope was born in Ireland in 1974. After graduating from Trinity College, Dublin, in the 1990’s he moved to Malibu, California, and began composing for a variety of musical genres including film, television and advertisements. He has worked on collaborative projects with various musicians including the Russian cellist Misha Quint and Oscar-winning director/producer Jack Green on a major film project starring Olivia Hussey. He is currently working on a commission to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the death of Robert Emmet in the form of an opera and score for a film depicting his role in Irish history. He is also working on a solo violin work for the Russian artistic director Dmitry Sumarokov of the Moscow Conservatoire. (biography © Contemporary Music Centre, Ireland) |
