CMC's final new music::new Ireland Salon of 2011 featured the Cork-based experimental music group, the Quiet Music Ensemble (QME). Led by composer and performer John Godfrey, the QME is dedicated to music that invites deep attention and perceptive listening.
The Salon took place at the Kevin Barry Room at the National Concert Hall and featured a new work commissioned by QME from young Irish composer Susan Geaney, a group improvisation, and John Godfrey's Washing Yourself with Food. The work involves spatially-distributed CD players, improvising musicians and the audience strolling around the performance space.
We are based in Dublin's Cultural Quarter, Temple Bar, home to more than fifty arts and cultural organizations.
