Interview with Raymond Deane

Raymond Deane talks to Jonathan Grimes about his upcoming portrait concert at the Purcell Room in London on 29 March 2010.

The London-based Fidelio Trio (Darragh Morgan, violin; Robin Michael, cello; and Mary Dullea, piano) are the featured performers in a concert of Raymond Deane's music in the Purcell Room at the South Bank Centre, London on 29 March 2010.

The programme includes his trio Marche Oubliée, a new arrangement of one of his early works, Embers, two piano works, After Piece I and Rahu's Rounds, as well as duos for violin and piano (Epilogue and Parthenia Violata), and violin and cello (Pentacle).

In this interview, Raymond Deane speaks about how the concert came about, the programme for the concert and his reasons for choosing the pieces, working with the Fidelio Trio and violinist Darragh Morgan, and his current and future projects.
