As part of the citywide activities of Culture Night, held in Dublin on Friday 19 September 2008, CMC presented InterPlay, an exhibition of interactive sound installations created by Jonathan Nangle, Sean Reed and Brian Solon. The Centre opened its doors between 6pm and 11pm, with over 450 people of all ages coming to join in the fun.

Sean Reed's Oracle, an audiovisual collaboration with digital artist Robert Darroll, provided a new, entertaining and creative take on the fortune teller, as users inputted personal information to an on-screen oracle which then gave out nuggets of wisdom and told them their future. Upstairs in the library, children and adults were able to indulge in their own composing by playing with Jonathan Nangle's double pendulums, a play on the chaos theory which produced unique musical results.

Culture Night is an initiative which began in 2006. It is led by Temple Bar Cultural Trust in association with the Council of National Cultural Institutions and supported by the Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism, to provide a new and imaginative route for people of all ages to connect with the arts and cultural life of the city. Over 100 of the city's arts and cultural organisations participated in the night by presenting a diverse programme of arts events and activities for young and old.

As the third annual Culture Night drew to a close, the city was buzzing with activity and a fun atmosphere.

CMC's 2008 events are supported by the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon.
