Hosted by the music department of NUI Maynooth, New Noise featured a day-long series of concerts, with performances from 28 composition students from universities around Ireland.
This was the third such event for student composers organised by CMC, with composition students from NUI Maynooth, Trinity College Dublin, University College Cork, University of Limerick, Queens’ University Belfast, DIT Conservatory of Music, and Dundalk Institute of Technology taking part.
The day was very well attended and was a great success. As well as showcasing the best in up-and-coming compositional talent by undergraduate and postgraduate students, the day provided a valuable opportunity for young composers to hear the music being produced by their peers in other colleges around Ireland, and to informally network with each other throughout the day.
